None of these are too shocking in a slightly historical very-much-romance book, but the book doesn’t offer anything good alongside these cliches.
I also wonder why publishers think that once an author becomes popular I DO like Susan Wiggs later booksthey can re-issue the first writing attempts of an author and readers will think they are good based solely on I truly wanted to like this book but after reading dull pages, I couldn’t force myself to go one page farther.

Our two lovers suxan thrown together by unusual happenings that eventually blossoms into a wonderful commmand story over time and with understandable obstacles overcome.

It has very little of action scenes so if you crave that more, you won’t find it here. I don’t really know about that. While the basic plot line is there, it is the circumstances bringing these events about that make this an interesting and satisfying book to read. There was so many twists and turns in co,mand book that I couldn’t put it down!

The author is a former teacher, a Harvard graduate, an avid hiker, an amateur photographer, a good skier and terrible golfer, yet her favorite form of exercise is curling up with a good book. Juliana is earthy and sexy and Stephen is tormented and inventive and I liked the Russian and Gypsy influences. BUT I have yet to find a romance written with this history in mind that is compelling and interesting.
